Crazy Pics of Watch Holding Motor Together For Last Pass
Just getting this information in, but definitely incredible - think 'Superman spans the train tracks'... a Rolex Submariner was used to plug a hole in a piston so that a Corvette Z06 could finish a race on Pinks.
Check out these pics:
Apparently the engine lasted one more pass with the watch keeping the piston intact.
After the piston was removed, you can see where the watch was holding it together:
But unfortunately when the thing finally let go, the watch travelled through the engine ending up in the bottom of the crankcase:
Pretty awesome!

april fools...? no!! of course they had time to pull the head, wedge the watch in the piston, and then put it all back on in 15 minutes! then make a pass and not even mar the watch up at all!! its toataly believable!!!
