My 1000 mile trip home.
Well I just recently got out of the military and was stationed in Gulfport, MS. I am from Columbus, OH so that is where my trip was to. It was a smooth drive and averaged 19 MPGs in 6th @ 2050 RPMs. My car is a H/C/Bolt ons, nitrous, 4.10s, Bigs and Littles car (which I drove with them on). Thought I would share how friendly these cars are even pretty heavily modified. Here's a few pics

Welcome home and thank you for becoming... a veteran of the US Navy!
Now, about the length of that trip... You can get from Gulfport to Columbus in under 900... Close enough, I guess... for gov't work. Good luck in the job market. Your skillset should help immensely.

They are racestars, if you look under my name and view my threads I posted a thread of my car when I first got the rims and tires. Should be called "WS6 on racestars" or something similar.
100% stock bottom end, 90k miles.
Yeah, crazy to think you may never see it again.
Well I live about 30 miles north of Columbus, and it had us go on some detours because I-65 was closed, it said it was like 960 miles from gulfport to delaware, ohio so add in the detours and it's damn close to 1000 lol.

In a nutshell, 19mpg isn't so bad considering the performance level. It could be much worse. I once had an 13mpg car IN overdrive...

The drivability tune could use some work, but 19 isn't too bad. Like the post above me, H/C/Gear makes a big difference with both performance and fuel economy. My car will no longer be driven every day like it was the past 2 years so MPGs isn't a big deal to me anymore.
