WE GOT OUR TRACK BACK!!! [Gateway 3/17]
Just a little something I threw together from yesterday.

For you out of towners, Gateway was closed down at the end of the 2010 season (same year we hosted the LSX Shootout), because of what else, money issues. It wasn't because the track wasn't successful, TNT were always packed, both nights, always a sellout at the NHRA events, etc. [If I have the story correct, it was because of the loan taken out to revamp the both the drag strip and circle track years ago, it was upside down and the reports were that it was so bad, that we'd have to have 5 NHRA events per year just to break even.]
Anyways, for most of 2011, the track sat deserted. But a deal was finally struck with new management and yesterday was the grand opening. They were only allowing 1/8th mile passes for the first few hours, so some rubber could be laid down. When they were finally just about to open it up to the full 1/4 mile, the rain came in and washed the day out. Oh well, it's finally back and St. Louis and the surrounding area is happy to have it back!

First street TnT is Tuesday and the first midnight madness is Friday. At this point I might be going Tuesday and I can not freakin wait. I've missed going to the track so much, so i'm pretty stoked to go. Do you know how much is it to get in?

That is awesome news, and I feel your pain. Our local track shut down a few years ago and everyone thought the local Indian's would buy it out to support their Casino. Luckily the county bought it out and reopened the track with a new concrete launch pad / management.
