Default Good quality camera

I wasn't sure where to place this thread, but since it's about photography I figured multimedia exchange would be appropriate.

My question: What is a good quality, but still affordable camera? I know "affordable" is a broad term, but anything $150 on up is a little out of my price range for now.

My camera sucks and I would like to get a new one for taking pics at car shows, etc plus I will be traveling to Florida in two weeks.

Examples of photos with your camera would be appreciated

Any point and shoot from the big names will most likely work just fine. 150 isn't a whole lot to work with but can DEFINITELY get you a camera that will take perfectly decent photos.

Picture why I came into this section intending to start a thread just like this, except I'm looking for a video camera (camcorder).

Just go to the store, look at the digital cameras in your price range, take a few pictures, and play with the menu and options. Pick the one you like.

My camera was about $450 total for a couple accessories and it's just a top shelf point and shoot. Any camera now will take good pictures...you just don't need to compare actual pictures on the internet unless you're willing to spend $1,000 on a DSLR.

whoopsies didn't see the price stipulation. The posted picture was taken with a Canon EF-S 60mm 2.8 macro.
