Default 2012 COPO Goes 8's 1st time out!!

The COPO's are finally hitting the track! Looks as if this Supercharged 327 cranked out 8's it first time out STOCK from the General against a stiff head wind!

Definitely badass. I'm curious what the trap speed would've been had he not lifted.

On another site they said the first run that went 144 had him almost on the rev limiter so they may need a gear change not to mention that nasty head wind they had holding them back.

any guesses on what these will do with a little tweaking???

Would be nice to see a scan log of one, as well as the tune.

This doesn't make any sense if nothing has been touched on the COPO by the owners. Why would GM make a car purpose built for the 1/4 mile but leave it no wiggle room with the gear ratio/tire combination where it can't even cross the 1/4 mile without hitting the rev limiter in the final gear? Looks like that's a pretty tall tire in the rear as well. I'd be pretty pissed If I bought a purpose built 1/4 mile car that can't even complete the 1/4 mile without hitting the rev limiter.

Yeah I thought the same thing but we dont know what they had the rev limiter set at since there just shake down passes. Since then they have trapped 157 with what they claim is a "soft" 1.29 60ft and so far the fastest 427 car has gone 9.40 but I don't know the mph.
