Talking VR '10 Camaro - VRSP2 Camshaft idle - 457-rwhp

Looking to add a little more power to your Fifth-gen Camaro without breaking the bank or ruining its drivability? One of our favorite tried-and-true combinations is a Vengeance Racing camshaft, a set of long-tube headers, and a quality cold air induction system. These three mods can take any stock Camaro and turn it into a tire melting fun machine that'll turn heads and run with the best of 'em.

Vengeance Racing VRSP2 Camshaft
This camshaft was designed specifically for square port LS3 applications, and features 227/235 degrees of duration at .050, .614/.621-inches of lift, and a street friendly 115-degree LSA. That cut generates tremendous power from 1800 to 6500rpm, which is perfect for a daily driver or weekend cruiser, and it will still give enthusiasts that deep muscle car lope that we all love.

Vengeance Racing Camshaft Kit PLUS
We've developed the Camshaft Kit Plus to eliminate having to order 11 different items to make you cam swap a success, and we've incorporated proven performance upgrades into the kit.
  • Vengeance Racing Custom Camshaft of Your Choice
  • Vengeance Racing 5/16th Hardened Pushrods
  • BTR .660" Lift Dual Spring Kit
  • C5R Timing Chain
  • Melling Hi Volume Oil Pump
  • Comp Cams Trunion Upgrade
  • GM Front Cover Seal
  • GM Front Cover Gasket
  • GM Waterpump Gasket Set
  • GM Crank Bolt
  • ARP Cam Bolts

Cold Air Inductions Intake System
This mod alone is worth 15-rwhp and it works with or without a camshaft upgrade to improve performance and acceleration.

American Racing Longtube Headers
Long-tube headers offer superior performance when compared to stock manifolds or shortie headers and they are essential for any all-motor Camaro build. Bang-for-the-buck, these are an excellent addition to any Fifth-gen... but everyone knows that!

Results:

Baseline numbers for this particular 2010 Camaro SS were 387.87-rwhp and 389.89 lb-ft of torque, which is about average for a stock LS3 on our in-house DynoJet dyno. With the VRSP2 camshaft PLUS kit, the CAI intake, and the American Racing long-tube headers, peak power was to to 457.97-rwhp and peak torque was up to 434.32 lb-ft. That's a gain of 70.1-rwhp and 44.43 lb-ft of torque. What's even more impressive, in our opinion, was the big gains in low RPM torque production, with over 50 ft-lbs more torque available at just 3500rpm. That's power you can FEEL and USE everyday.

I'm interested in this cam for my build. I'm choosing between it or the cam motion Titan 3. I'm putting an ls3 crate motor into an 01 z28 but stuck choosing between these 2 cams
