Tim Allen's LS7-powered 1968 Camaro 427 "COPO" - Jay Leno's Garage

Talk about not judging a book by it's cover! On the surface, Tim Allen's '68 Camaro looks like just another first Gen. F-body, but the keenest of eyes will immediately notice the altered body lines, the slammed stance and the big brakes hiding behind the modernized Rally wheels. That's right, Tim "The Tool Guy" Allen commissioned one heckuva hot rod based on a certain Camaro he fell in love with as a teenager. More specifically, he can recall an infamous '68 Camaro racing on Woodward in Michigan; it had minimalist styling and was fast as hell.
Fast forward 40 years and Allen commissioned the help of Detroit Speed Shop as well as Bodie Stroud and Classic Industries to help him build the teenage dream car. Along with a killer chassis and tidy finishing details, Brembo brakes hide under the 17" Rally wheels while an LS7 with plenty of under-hood show-car details make it an A-list party when the hood's popped. But it's the simple body sans a bunch of add-ons, but accentuated by molded front and rear fender flares and shaved drop rails that help this Camaro enter the realm of the awe-inspiring.
Are you a fan of this Camaro's simplistic blend of modern and unique style? I know I am!

Look for the main-page post soon.

Beautiful car, Tim Allen is a big car guy and has some awesome cars. I really like the 2 hot rods be built while filming the Home Improvement TV series back in the 90s. Actually the Mustang and Nomad he had on the show were both his personal cars.

This car is just right. Nice and subtle look at it for a while and you can't say exactly what is done to it. Not hit with a sledge hammer like a lot of first gens are done.

Damn did they do that 1st gen right. Every aspect of the car is just stunning. That is how you build completely modern old school hot rod.

The look on Tim's face during that burnout was priceless. You'd think they could have found a better spot to spin the tires though...
