Terminator, Terminated... ***VIDS Now Uploaded 1st pg.***
A few friends and I met up at the local track tonight. I was going to spectate and a friend encouraged me to give it a try. Let's just say that it was a complete fail to say the least. My ride is acting weird on the 28's, with super stiff brake pedal, abs, traction control, and actual brake light warning lights on. Car is tuned for the normal 17" 275 street tires, and not calibrated or tuned for theses wheels. Couldn't do a standing burnout, or stall up off the line. When the light turned green, I floored it and then the traction control kept kicking in, even tho the light on the dash indicated it was off. My 60s... 1.9 1.8 and 2.0 vs the Termi. Was told this termi was in the high 400 rwhp range, and had nto5s.
When the light turned green, he jumped ahead pretty nasty giving me the task to run him down. Once I reeled him in, and pass him by the 1/8 I noticed he didn't want to put up a fight and let's off. I have video, and will upload later on today.
Worst thing is, the 10 bolt is clunking and seems as its going to let go once more. O'well, I should of used the trans brake tonight and finished it off once and for all.
**EDIT: 4/20/14**
Cobra Vs TA
Traction control kicking in, and unable to stall up.
Trans Am Vs Trans AM
Notice rolling burnout instead of standing. Couldn't do better thanks to brake pedal super stiff, and had same problem stalling up off the line.
Friends 5.0 on left vs Challenger

I don't think it's that, and it's not the worm gears in the center unit like it happened 3 weeks ago and shattered. It's more like the entire center unit having play. If I accelerate and let off right away, I can feel the clunk. The previous one that went out, did that noise, before it grinded all the gears. I knew I was on borrowed time, just didn't expect some soft and weak track launches would cause this problem again.

Josh Townsend in Durant, OK can take the axles off the 10 bolt and mate it to an 8.8 centersection. Upgrading to dutchman 31 spline axles though.
You are in dallas, so it would be worth a drive for you. Just heads up.
It's about a 2-3 hour drive for both of us.
I bought an 8.8 out of a 97 explorer for $100 bucks. It is an open diff 3.27. So I ordered a trac lok carrier, mini spool, 3.55's, and a girdle(overkill yes I know).
Built 8.8 for $1000-1500 less than a 9 inch.
PM me if you're interested.
-He also custom fabs a torque arm for the 8.8 for ya.

I'm in Austin, but for a 1500 savings, I'd take a trip... I am recouping from a unexpected financial blow from a medical emergency, but shouldn't take me long at all to come up with the cash, and rather do this than completing the nitrous set up. What hp launches you think these 8.8s can take at around 4 to 5k rpm using the trans brake? Car sits around 3860 with me in it.

Well there's guys on the stock 8.8's running 8's and 9's...
Built 8.8 you shouldn't have any issues on your setup IMO, especially being an auto car.
Other members on here with experience with the 8.8 could chime in.

You need to pull your abs fuse when you put the 28"s on dude. I did the same thing at the track and it wasn't fun. When you pull the fuse the shitty pedal feel will go away and it wont try to lock up on you.

Stock 8.8 ain't gonna run 8's or even 9's for very long if at all.
The stock 28 spline axles might run 10's a few times with a automagic, the 31's no problem. The stock unit will run 10's for a little while, but the clutch packs won't last, you will need to upgrade. If you are only going to run high 10's, you could get away with a Cobra unit with carbon fiber clutches. Anything faster than that, you would need to go aftermarket or even a spool.
If it's a hard hitting stick car, I would highly recommend some axle tube braces.

You are and got me thinking about it. On LS1tech, pulley only Cobra's make close to 500, so LOTB actually ran a pulley only Cobra.
When you think about him out running a pulley only Cobra, it just doesn't seem as impressive
