That was definitely a fuel line, nitrous won't cause a fire like that.

If my C5 caught on fire and burned to the ground and I was ok, big deal, buy another with the insurance companies money. What sucks is that insurance won't cover it because he was at the track.

Sucks bigtime. I don't mind Dsm's at all, just usually the people driving them. I'm also a former owner of a 1st gen eclipse, that car looked like it may of had something.

same here, 92 gsx....about 19psi, before the accident of course.

Did anyone notice the flames on the guys hat, maybe that was some kind of indication or wateva....

besides that, that was horrible!!! I would totally kick myself in the nuts over and over again if i watched my ride go up in flames...with a lawnchair and some marshmellows as soon as the swelling goes down...

Wow, I didn't know that a gas that isn't flammable could light up like that.

If that were me, I'd all over my shoes and then kill myself.

Signs of intelligent life at the honda site:

I agree, I don't think the nitrous alone did it, but it sure helped it light up a lot quicker.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nitrous is an accelerant and isn't flammable. It will not feed a fire.

Does not look like the car was slow either. Hoosiers all around, fire jacket (Which came in handy for him). Sucks. Hope it never happens to me...

I read about that car. Lots of boost and nitrouse on a stock block and head. I think it was a eight second car. Watching it burn like that does not surprize me. Could be a different car.
