Default WMV web pages lock up my browser...HELP!!!

Every time I try to watch a vid on any web page based wmv, it locks up my browser and I have to forcefully closes them and open a new browser screen. Both firefox and IE. Anyone have any ideas on what would cause that? They have never worked for me, so it not something I have done recently. I can down load mwv files and watch them, this prob is only with the web page streaming players and only with wmv. QT vids work fine. Please help!

Have you tried upgrading to the latest version of Windows Media Player?

Hm. Do you have RealPlayer installed? I've heard of it causing some odd conflicts occasionally.

Ya, I do have RealPlayer installed. Don't know how it could cause problems, but I'll try dumping it and see.

Streaming videos won't let anyone save them, unfortunately.

Sorry to not be of more help, it's hard to figure much out without an error message to go by. Only one other idea, kinda related to what I already asked... have you installed all the Windows Update patches, including the optional stuff?
