Default play video from camcorder to PC

I have a JVC model # GR-D290. I am able to transfer and copy still images stored in the memory card of the camcorder but I am not able to play the video on my PC. What software do i need to buy to play the vedeo on my PC?

Pls guide.

i forget the name of my program its at home but i just went and asked some one at the store i think it cost like 60$.ive heard windows media movie maker is pretty good but thats about all i know on the subject

well if your camcorder is anything like my sony, they make you use the software it came with to play it on your pc, it took me like 3 months to figure that out lol

If you're running XP, you should have Windows Movie Maker...


Just connect your camera to the computer via Firewire and a list of programs to capture video should pop up....

The manual says you can do it using USB:


I would install the software that came with the camera. Then, you should be able to use the utilities that came on the CD, or Windows Movie Maker to create videos.
