Re: Priceless Video From SLP Day in Orlando
Sorry guys, we're currently moving all of the videos to a secondary server cause they're pulling quite a bit of bandwidth <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> (yesterday totalled 17 Gigs)
Should be up again by the end of the day <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />
Killer, I had Denny over at Mufflex build a custom 3.5" equal flow exhaust for my upcoming Flamethrower system <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />
It might look a bit restrictive, but I actually dynoed 6HP more than my old R/T Catback <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
It has no Muffler, but is still rather quiet and sounds VERY deep (not raspy at all)
Rick

Damn, somebody was a little excited. Thats a funny vid, car sounded pretty nasty, guy just needs to figure out how to drive it.
Hey Rick, are you extending the tips on your catback, if you are, how far? Autoloc just came out with a pre-wired Flame thrower setup. All you have to do is buy 2 coils and a few other items to complete the install. I'm going to have to search around for some longer tips. I'd rather not melt the bumper in the process of showing off <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> Keep us posted on your progress, I can't wait to see it <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

Re: Priceless Video From SLP Day in Orlando
Sorry man, but the AutoLoc system is an overpriced POS...
All it does it cuts your engine's ignition when you hit the button and lets the excess fuel out the exhaust to be ignited by the plugs...
If you've got cats, expect a metldown <img border="0" alt="[bang head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" />
Back in the day, all they did was yank on the choke or 2-step the ignition, but the extra fuel dump meant risking burnt exhaust valves <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="gr_sad.gif" />
You're better off just installing a basic separate ignition system like this:
<img src="http://development.rmci.net/~term/image.phtml/http://community.webshots.com/image5/7/92/39/64279239FywQrq_ph.jpg" alt=" - " />
And a separate Fuel Injection system like this:
<img src="http://development.rmci.net/~term/image.phtml/http://community.webshots.com/image5/7/92/61/64279261JzNNFt_ph.jpg" alt=" - " />
I'm not extending the tips on my 98 T/A
As long as there's a good amount of exhaust pressure, the flames will clear the bumper...
For all of my customers, I usually install a WOT switch between the Fuel Solenoid activation button to help ensure the system is only activated when the revs are high...
I kinda have my car on hold right now cause I'm busy with other projects, but I'll eventually get to it....
I just have to install the second fuel solenoid, nozzles and lines...

Well you can't have cats with either system, so I'll have to wait till my exhaust stuff comes in. So your not extending the tips at all? Hmm, I'll have to think about it, you'd know better than me anyhow. Thanks for the wiring diagrams! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> I'll buy the coils, capacitors, wiring, etc. and bring them into my auto tech class next week. Hopefully with a little help I can install it soon. <img border="0" alt="" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

You can still use my system with Cats, you just have to install the Fan Nozzles in the tailpipes after the cats and Muffler <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

Re: Priceless Video From SLP Day in Orlando
After really looking at those diagrams for a little while I understand it better now. It seems pretty easy to do actually. Just have to take down a few of those part numbers, new fuel filter, braided lines, NOS nozzles and the rest. I can see it more clearly now, this is gonna bad ***! <img border="0" alt="[driving]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_driving3.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[worship]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" />
The only question(s) I have is how far or close... does everything have to be ie: The NOS solenoids from the nozzles, coils from spark plugs, or anything else?

Re: Priceless Video From SLP Day in Orlando
Mount the Spark plugs as close to the end of the tips as possible...
6" from the tip seems to work well for 2.5" tailpipes, but you can get away with 8" from the tip if you have 3" tailpipes...
Mount the Fuel Nozzles at least 12" behind the plugs, but not before any bends in the pipe or mufflers/resonators...
If space is an issue and you can't mount them 12" or more, you can mount the Nozzles closer to the plugs and position them backwards so that they spray upstream (this will allow the fuel to atomize better to avoid fouling the plugs)...
Mount the Fuel Solenoids on the center of the underbody of the car and tap the feed line directly off of the fuel filter (3-Way Fuel Filter)...
I use 2 Solenoids inline just in case one ever gets stuck in the open positions (safety first)
Route all of the braided lines away from heat sources and moving parts and you're good to go <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />
Mount the relays, resistors and condensers in a plastic tupper ware bowl like this:
<img src="http://development.rmci.net/~term/image.phtml/http://community.webshots.com/sym/image2/0/48/19/48404819XTpfmH_ph.jpg" alt=" - " />
All of the Ignition parts are easily hidden in the corners of the trunk...
Mount one coil and the sealed tupperware bowl in the drop well under the left rear cubby hole like this:
<img src="http://development.rmci.net/~term/image.phtml/http://community.webshots.com/sym/image2/0/47/35/48404735iVuhbn_ph.jpg" alt=" - " />
Replace the floor grille and carpet and the install is completely stealth...
<img src="http://development.rmci.net/~term/image.phtml/http://community.webshots.com/sym/image2/0/47/15/48404715kJTSIY_ph.jpg" alt=" - " />
Mount the other coil in the Spare tire well behind the inner fender lip and route the plug wire through the drainage hole on the floorboard like this:
<img src="http://development.rmci.net/~term/image.phtml/http://community.webshots.com/sym/image2/0/49/10/48404910TBsbGt_ph.jpg" alt=" - " />
When installed right, no one will ever know you have a Flamethrower system unless they do some deep digging <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

Re: Priceless Video From SLP Day in Orlando
Hey 98 SNAKE EATER, Do you have any videos of your car with flames? I would think that would be the coolest thing you could do at a redlight right before racing someone. I cannot imagine the expression on their face when they see flames flying out the back lol. I actually have only seen flames on funny cars but never street cars is why I ask. Also how long can you leave it on before it causes melting of the bumper etc?
