Default Photoshop program (need help/advice)

I want to do some things with photoshop but havn't used it in a couple years. I downloaded version 7.0, is this a decent version? Is there any books or online references to teach me how to do some of the basics to intermediate things with the program? Any advice or help would be great so I can get going on making a sig pic and some other pictures of my ride!

As I can remember if you actually go to prin your work out I believe you want to change the size or file format and do a couple things to make it the best quality for printing. Anyone have any tips for that?

you're talking about the DPI... most printing companies request your work to be in 300 DPI.
