Default Watch out possible scammer 3m1k

Guy is new to tech. I posted a wtb thread for a z06 cam.
He contacts me via pm to say contact me via email if you're still looking.

Contacted him. He gets back to me saying he has one for $100 shipped
Sends pics and it has stock ls1 (01-04) stamp number

Will get screen shot up when I get home this afternoon.

Needless to say Do your research people! Guys are trying to get one over on people who don't know much about stuff

Can confirm: contacted by same person, doesn't seem completely legit. I didn't even get a pic or a price, haha

I got contacted also, same MO, about my wanted post for some Z06 wheels/tires. I emailed him, but I doubt his legitimacy also.

They must be related to the craigslist scammers that apparently live overseas and wish to buy kitchen chairs and tables, and request them to be shipped halfway around the ******* world.

I wish I was making it up.

I had that happen when working at a car lot about 8 years ago. We put a Camaro up on ebay for sale and some guy from Botswana said he would send a cashiers check for the full purchase price plus the shipping cost and some money for my time to arrange shipping the vehicle to him.

I told him I had to wait 60 days for the money to be cleared because it was an international transaction and he had to cover any differences if there was a "miscalculation" in the exchange rate between the time of sale and the time the cashiers check actually cleared.

He said that was fine. I then informed him that the cashiers check was not going to work and he must send the money via bank wire transfer, and we still had to wait 60 days for clearing.

Never heard from him again. LOL
