Default Got a $1000, what to buy??

I have an 02 WS6 with 68,XXX and I was thinking about either a 3600 stall or a good set of headers...I plan on doing a head/cam swap way on down the road, but I've been reading stalling a car makes it much for fun to drive. I plan on getting a tune also just to change shift points and so on. What is the best way to spend my money?

i would say a converter bc it completely changes ur car into a monster. You will see the most gains from it over exhaust anyday of the week

Converter and dominate almost everyone who tries to race ya, rub it in when you tell them your engine is stock and show them you don't even have headers.

Would DR's not be hell on the stock 10 bolt? Or do you have to be making some power to blow that out?

With an A4, stock 10 bolt can handle quite a bit. I wouldn't worry until you go mid to deep into the 11s, but there are some I'm sure that are running quicker with a good suspension setup.

Yea im pretty much leaning towards the stall and a set of M/T's are looking pretty good too. I'm just afraid the tires are gonna hook to well and blow the rearend out, that certainly is a possiblity right?

If you want to go fast, get the stall, cooler, and flexplate first. Your 2002 should have one of the Mr. Peanut flexplates which are prone to cracking. Get sticky tires too if you can within your budget.

Suspension and chassis mods next if you need them to hook with the converter.

Exhaust later, unless you just want the sound before the traction.

In the A4 combo isnt the 4L60E the weak link, would a 3600 stall hurt the tranny any?

the 4l60e is a pretty weak link but it should take some abuse. Just put a trans cooler in and either put a shift kit in or higher the line pressure. Doing either will not hurt the trans if u were going to ask it will only help it. Dont get me wrong anything can blow at anytime. The rear could blow up any minute to. just to give you some info my cars rear blew at 20,000 miles and the trans at 25,000, thank goodness i didnt own it at the time even tho it was under warranty but anything could happen at anytime. Its part of playing. I'm not saying this happens to all cars just mine was a lucky one lol

I have had my 3500 stall and Torquer 2 cam for the past 2+ years or 20k miles. Trans is stock minus a cooler, rear is stock. I have been to the track many many times with DR. I do have SFC and LCA though which may help reduce wear on the rear since less wheel hop, etc. (KNOCK ON WOOD)
