Catalytic Converter Replacement?

Catalytic Converter Replacement? Pretty sure I need to replace my cat and don't have the money to go through the dealership. What do you guys suggest? It has to meet ca emission requirements.

My car was showing codes earlier thats why I was worried it wasnt going to pass and I needed to buy a new one, but it passed earlier today. Still concerned that a bad cat will cause power loss though?

Depending on the miles on your car, it might still be under the warranty for Federal Emmisions Equipment. I know at the least, the 2002 were extended to 100,000. If your POSITIVE that the problem isn't one of the O2 sensors, and it's definately the CAT, the dealer may replace it under warranty for free - give them a call and see.

I got $100 a piece for my stockers 2 1/2 years ago from a recycler for the platinum in them IIRC.... Said mine were small and some bring even more. Hell you can buy brand new ones for less than that....

Aftermarket cats will not pass the visual inspection in Cali.-
and many of them will not perform as well as the oem cats causing the car
to not pass smog.
I have had both of these happen to me when I lived in Cali.
Buy used oem cats if you can find good ones, new oem ones are really expensive.
