Why does my car have 3 o2 sensors?

I heard we have 2 o2 sensors and 2 o2 simulators, but I think my car has 3 o2 sensors, because when I removed my wiring harness, due to my car being very rich and very underpowered, I found out that there are 3 plugs that are identical to each other... not 4, 3 only...

Anyone?

(My car: 240sx with an LS1 swap, LS1 is from a 98 camaro automatic)

LS1s have 4. 2 pre cat, 2 post cat. There are simulators that you can buy that plugs into the rear ones, so that it won't set a code. I never had luck with them, and just had them tuned out

man I have the whole harness out infront of me I have 3 only!!! I am either missing the fourth or I think something is not right... check the picture...

There should definitely be a fourth. The harness is missing it

Ok so can anyone help me know which one is which?

so I have 3, 1 closer to the PCM connecter, and 2 comming out from the same part where the automatic plug is comming out... which one is my 02 sensor and which is the one that checks CAT functionality?

(lets assume I do have 4 not 3)

if anyone knows that pins or anything that could help me repin the fourth 02 sensor please feel free to post it here

the sucky thing in your situation is all 4 of the o2 sensors have the same plug and they are all interchangeable o2 sensors. i have wiring diagram i will take a look at for you tommarow

You probably have two O2 sensors and and the extra one (in your hand) is a provision for wideband tuning.

I'm guessing, but someone in the PCM section will tell you for sure.

ok I got the pins and I found where they are, I'm at work now... and I'm going to check them out in an hour or so...
