Default 4.8/5.3 difference

Let's say you want to buy an engine that's on the ground and the guy thinks it's a 5.3. I know the blocks are the same, but how would you know the difference? Are there cyl head part numbers for 4.8 or 5.3 engines only? Or anything?

Understand what i'm asking?

john

The heads are on, the back of the block has 4.8/5.3 and the heads are 706's

I found what i need, the 4.8 uses the flat top piston and the 5.3 is dished.

I hate trusting things like that.
