SLP lid = slower car I put on a SLP air lid to my SS and the car "feels" slower. I also changed my IAC sensor, if that has anything to do with it.
Any opinions?

What state do you live in? I ran the exact same time as you 13.80 @ 101mph lol but i was bone stock. Just the lid,K&N and 80 series flomaster...Im still stock but got some bolt ons so im wondering how fast ill run this season...

Im glad i have an 02 ss for this reason lol. By the way you can never judge any modification by the butt dyno. It may feel slower because you may have lost a little low end torque but gained it up top, a mod isnt always about peak gain.

...I wish 2000 would of been the year with the LS6 intake and all the better parts lol...And hes right...You might of lost low end and gained high end...but like i said i dont believe someone can really feel the difference with this mod...i know i didnt but i do know it helped. Trending Topics

After all the little mods ive done to mine it feels slower but it isnt.
As for the familiar track, the DA has a lot to do with your ET. So keep that in mind too. I took out a bunch of weight and did some stuff to the t/a last weekend and it ran a faster ET but a slower MPH. DA went to ****..

Must be a difference in DA then, i see alot of pre 01 cars running no better than 13.6-13.8 basically stock and im running consistently 13.1-13.3 depending on what kind of launch i get. And it may be marginal, but im happy for it lol. Really that was just a comment, the point i was trying to make is the butt dyno isnt accurate.

Trap speed shows power, your traps are pretty much the same as most every stock LS1 auto car...you are right in the middle of average for all model years.

I'm not sure, but it feels like I've lost a little throttle response. The car dosen't have the same jump it had off the line.
I'll never know if it is actually slower, because it will never see track time.

Air lids have been consistantly good for an average of a 10rwhp increase on stock LS1s ever since they were introduced over a decade ago. Nobody in the history of LS1 ownership has ever lost horsepower with an aftermarket lid vs the stock lid.
I am 100% sure that you have not lost power due to an air lid. Now, that's not to say that the car might not be feeling right to you at the moment, but what I can say for sure is that it's not the air lid's fault. Are you sure all the clamps are tight? Did you drop or whack the MAF during the install? Did you do anything else under the hood at the same time? Any new noises or other driveability problems? Or, it might be something totally unrelated that just happened at the same time.
Maybe the weather has been different lately?

^the op said in his first post he also changed the IAC sensor the same time. i thought i could tell the car was breathing a little better when i put a lid on my car, may be the mind playing tricks tho.

What is this "IAC sensor" the OP is referring to? These cars have an IAC motor/valve, not a sensor. I'm guessing he's referring to the IAT sensor, that's the one that attaches to the air lid and would need to be moved to a new lid.

The reason I changed the IAC is that I broke one of the plastic arms that cover the senser. It didn't throw a code when I put it back in, but I replaced it just to be safe. I think I'll put the original back in and see if I notice a difference.
