Default What is the color of stock 01 head gaskets?

Hey guys,

Does anyone know what is the color of a stock head gasket? This is from a 2001 Camaro. I'm wondering if mine have been changed out in the past. Can't really tell by the bolts if the head has been off or not.

Thanks

The MLS is a dark gold/brown color and the graphites are grey.

Thanks for the reply Jon.

Are you saying that GM used either ones from the factory? Or are you saying that on is from the factory, and one is a "factory replacement"?

My factory gasket was graphite and it was silver/grey in color. Kinda like foil looking. The MLS have a copper/gold look with black tracings around each hole in the block.

Thanks man!! I was just curious to see if the color of them was any evidence of the heads being taken off before. Looks like I'm fine.

THANKS!!

thats no indication...if the heads come off, the gaskets have to be replaced, someone may have taken them off and replaced them with stock GM gaskets.
