Default Help! Dim headlight problem on Trans Am

Hi all,

New Member here. The headlights are acting wierd on my 99 Trans Am (5.7L V8). Just noticed that three of my four headlights are very dim on low beam. Both dim on the driver side and one dim on the passenger side. When I switch to high beam both driver side lights go out and both passenger side lights brighten. I also have an apparent short in my power window / radio circuit where I lose power intermittently to the window and radio. However, the circuit is restored when I activate the power door locks a few times. Can anyone advise me on what may be the problem / cure? Thanks and regards.

Your window/radio problem sounds like the body control module...... Search it there is a long thread on one of the forums here on it...

When your dims are on there are only supposed to have one light on at each side.....

Likely 2 separate issues here. For the headlights check the ground wires on the radiator support, that's probably the issue. If headlight circuits aren't grounded REALLY WELL they act a lot like you are describing.
