Default 99 Trans Am into 98 Z28?

My grandson totaled his 99 TA in a rear end crash. I've found a pretty nice 98 Z28. The TA had a rebuilt Jasper engine with less than 2K miles on it.

There is virtually nothing under the hood of the Z28 nor is there any exhaust system.

My question is will the engine, exhaust, and related parts in the TA fit the Z28?

The motor and drivetrain will bolt right in. You will need to stick with the '98 harness and ECU with the '98 car. You can't move the newer harness into the '98 car.

Off topic but can't you repin a 99 computer to work with the 98 harness?

I don't know if you can do that or not. I've never heard of anyone doing it.
