I know this is probably a dumb question to most of you, but I see it come up numerous times as a recommended part. Please enlighten me.

No sums questions just dumb answers! A lid is in that pic and it's smooth in the inside unlike the stock one wich has baffeling in it! It's a good mod to have for sure!

Big red arrow is pointing to it.

Sorry, had to.. You can pick them up for around 50-80$ shipped from the classified if you keep an eye on them. A lid is a lid is a lid, don't worry if it is a whisper/slp/etc etc etc it will all do the same thing and give you the same RWHP gains (4-7Rwhp or so).

We all have to start somewhere, so ask away! As mentioned, the stock lid is somewhat restrictive due to the stupid baffles. Lids are cheap/easy first mod to do.

Hey thanks alot guys, I have a stock one and would have never known I would get better performance by changing that out. I just wanted to do it for cosmetic reasons. Loved the lid joke btw.

Would I get more horsepower out of my Tupperware if I put a bigger lid on it?

Do the free mods as well.. TB bypass, ported TB, free ram air... You can search for them or search ls1howto.com for a full very detailed write up.

No problem.

No doubt. Just be careful, you can "over lid" your Tupperware and it will not hold freshness as well, in return melting pistons...

For instance...

Don't do the free ram air mod unless you want all kinds of **** sucked into your filter and be changing it all the time. Common sense should tell you more **** will get through your filter too.......,.

A filter will do just as good (or bad) of a job at filtering no matter how much air you expose it too. Just because the air is dirtier or cleaner shouldn't matter in terms of filtration ability....only thing that should be effected is lifespan. Hence the reason why the filter will need to be changed more often when exposed to dirtier air.

I'm with this guy. Some people have to drive in dirtier conditions than other people, hence why there are filters. All you are doing is exposing the filter to a little dirtier of a condition. It will still filter, you just have to change it/recharge it more often.

If you modded your Tupperware by installing a taller lid, you could increase storage capacity.

Ahhh, I like a shorter lid... Nice little bump in compression!

Could work either way, a shorter lid would be like a dished piston and probably reduce compression. The taller lid would be domed and should boost compression based on a smaller chamber between top dead center of the tupperware and the underside of the fridge shelf. Unless of course you're considering the inside of the tupperware to be the chamber and the lid to be the head, in which case you'd then be correct.

I couldn't get the lids on my Tupperware to work.

I'm all about Rubbermaid now. But thanks for the tips!
