Default Here goes...

just bought a 00 B4C A4 kinda unmolested with long tubes, !Smog, !EGR, and a b.s. tune that hits the rev limiter from 2-3

looking at SS wheels, a cat in the y pipe (this junk is loud), a corvette servo, boost valve, a lid, and finally a decent tune...

anything else i should look into before headin to the track??

- Skip the cat. There are better ways to tone down the exhaust than wasting money on emissions bullshit. I don't know what sort of catback you have, or how loud you want it, but a couple bullet mufflers in the Y-pipe will have no effect on power, be cheaper than cats, and sound better (IMO).

- Don't bother with a "corvette servo" unless you're planning a full rebuild/freshening of the trans. Not worth just swapping out that part. Anyway, you need to find out if the shifting issues are really due to the tune or an actual internal trans issue. All the more reason to not start working on the trans until you know just how much work it might need.

- Boost valve?

corvette servo and boost valve are common 200-4R, 700r4, and 4L60E upgrades. the servo is an easy install on the outside of the case. the boost valve is accessed by removing the pan, and located just above the filter in the pump.

the transmission has never been opened.

the car came with a brand new aftermarket cat, about the length of a bullet muffler, that's the only reason i'm putting a cat in it. FREE.

the transmission shift is due to the tune that's in it. he had it tuned with EFI live to bypass the O2s, and increased the line pressure in the transmission

your car already has a corvette servo (a quick search will confirm that)

yup, all LS1 F-Bodies got the corvette servo, and after reading a bit even some LT1s have it.

just got back from the exhuast shop. the muffler that was on the car was some b.s. and the whole thing had to be replaced because of how ghetto fabulous it was put together.

right side of the exhaust was welded on the tailpipe before the muffler

isn't that just cute

awesome fabrication...

after finding all this, car now has a flowmaster on it that is proper for the application with factory vacuum cleaner tips on it. i also added a 12" resonator after the y-pipe to help quiet it down.

but now of course the damn y-pipe rattles against the crossmember under low rpm half throttle load. argh.

well after having the exhaust "fixed" today, my y-pipe is slammin the hell outta the crossmember, and found the oil pan gasket leaking pretty nicely.

just ordered prothane motor and tranny mounts, and a new oil pan gasket.

replacing these parts next weekend is gonna be so much fun.............
