Ram Air Hood on a regular trans am?
I want to put a ram air hood on my 98 trans am but the car is not a ram air. would that be okay? I just want that aggressive muscle look.

It'll work just fine and it has a slit cut on the inside front that will channel the air into the bottom of your air box which makes it functional. The trufiber hoods are a great piece. We just put one on a buddies T/A and it fit like it was factory. No adjusting other than the bump stops for the hood.

For a little more you could go with a WS9 "Outlaw" hood. IMO the WS9 Outlaw would probably give you more of an aggressive Muscle look than the truefiber. The difference is that it is made by VFN and the scoop on the hood sits about 2" taller than the truefiber WS9. The Trufiber WS9 is the same height as a OEM WS6 hood.
here's a link to my WS9 Outlaw Hood, it's unpainted because I just installed it.

I was looking for a Ram Air hood for the longest time, but I really wanted OEM. I've heard horror stories about some of the aftermarket ones. Some people were having all kinds of issues with them not aligning correctly, warping over time, etc.
I picked up an OEM Ram Air hood a few weeks ago, and bolted it on. Needless to say, it fits like a glove. While it's true that you will pay more for the OEM, but in my opinion you're paying for much better quality.

Yes, you can. Where are you located? I Just removed my WS6 hood and replaced it with an WS9 Outlaw hood. If you're local you can have first dibs on it.
