Default tach not working

i pulled my motor apart an painted the engine bay. but before that it worked.

we pulled the heads off, tore it down to a shortblock, threw arp rod bolts in but didnt leave cyl 1 tdc. threw cam/lifters/ls2 chain

so some people are saythng thats why my tach doesnt work because the crank an cam are out of sync an i should do a crank relearn.

i turn the key on an it makes a sweep, i gues thats a way of teling it needs a relearn as i was told.

no cut wires or poinches, new cam sensor.

maybe bad ground due to painting block an bay?

its driving me nuts an im throwing 2 codes ones p0342 n idk wat the other was.

Idk if there is I'd have to look but start by making sure all fuses are good not just the one associated with the problem

Check the cam sensor and the wiring to and from that sensor. Also the grounds on the back side of the cylinder head; make sure they are clean and tight!

And on the code reader I hope it was cheap to rent because you can buy one for $70 now if it reads all the engine peramiters that is a different story but just codes you can get one cheap.
