Default Lightweight windshield/hatch glass?

So I was sitting around thinking of ways to drop the weight of my 02 SS without making the car uncomfortable or unappealing. I was thinking, this windshield and the hatch glass cant be light. Im guessing 100ish lbs each.

Could there be a lightweight replacement that wouldnt lower visibility or integrity? I wouldnt really expect a lightweight replacement to hold up as well in an accident but thats not really a concern to me.

Anyone know anything?

I'm thinking the same. I know its not legal here in MO, but you might be able to get away with it on the rear. However, I cant say the visibility will be good or bad.

Just from what I've seen on a couple fast cars, but doesn't clear Lexan scratch like a bitch?

Yeah it doesn't take much to scratch. They have some scratch resistant coatings now that help.

Just looked at their site and they are NOT DOT approved.

lol they may not be street legal but can anyone imagine being pulled over for that? I dont think even state inspections pay THAT close attention to your glass unless its illegally tinted. Amirite?

edit: Thx for the link to Percy's btw
