with LT's, DR's, a lid, 3800 stall and some suspension, I went 12.3's @ 109.5 all day. I 60 footed in the 1.7's on every one of those passes.

full boltons and weight reduction will get you there as long as you get traction.

If u do the converter with those gears it will feel very oose from a stop it would really benefit you to do gears with the stall. I just swapped up to 3.42's and was worried abt the mpg but it wasnt bad at all in town its the same or maybe even a little bit better and on the hwy i may have lost 1-2mpg

With 2.73s, I'd think one of the last things he'd need to worry about would be traction, even on street tires.

not sure if hes still on LS1 Tech, but look up a member named GM MUSCLE. Hes running the MS3, and a stall (not sure on size), and 2.73 and spray and hes running 10's. the only one ive seen run that fast with 2.73.

if he wants to run low 12s high 11s hes going to need traction unless hes making alot of power.

That's my point, traction is going to be a lot easier with 2.73s than 3.73s or 4.10s.

if hes running a stall hes going to need a stickier tire even with 2.73s.

you will need some good low end torque.a tr224 cam ,or a comp cam truck cam 54-455-11.get a ls6 intake.you can beef up your stock lower control arms (lca) with some tubing or flat steel .I like a adjustable torque arm for tuning the suspension.

Depends on what you consider a benefit. 2.73 to 3.42 won't give you much at the track. You really need to go up to a 3.73 for the cost and work to be worth the gains.

On the other hand, a 3.42 will make the converter feel tighter, if you're the sort of person that's bothered by that. Frankly, I could drive around with a 3500 stall and 2.73s forever and not be bothered. Everyone is different though.

You'd be surprised. My '98 Z currently has a stock stall and new GS-D3s in a 285 size, I can easily break them free from a dead stop with 2.73s.

My old 2002 Z28 went 11.7xs all day with a F13 cam, TCI 3K stall(it was garbage) and 2.73s on Nitto drag radials. It was still full weight minus spare tire/jack

With 2.73s and a stock converter my car will blow off rain tires pretty badly.
The fastest my car has gone is 12.68 @ 109 (1.86 60 ft) with 2.73s and a Yank 2800 stall, which is almost like not having an aftermarket stall. It was super tight. Best 60 ft I got with that combo was 1.84. With 2.73s and a stock converter I ran 12.79 @ 109.95, 1.98 60 ft.
