It's pretty much opinion on what one is best. There are ones that allow for more power (Magnaflow/SLP/Corsa/Borla > Flowmaster), but sound is up to you. This site allows you to listen to a lot of different sound combinations. I'm personally going for the Magnaflow with the dual/dual tips. They have resonators in the tips and honestly sound pretty darn good, even without LT's.

I have Magnaflow off my stock manifold (no CATS).. which is basically a shorty header. It's pretty loud but not stupid loud and I love it.
The Magnaflow I have is a no baffle, no restrictions. one 3" in split into dual 2.5" out with 2.5" slotted resonator tips. It sounds great.
A lot of people swear by Hooker too.

They are all good depending on what you like. Each has a different look and different sound, so there is no single best for everyone. Do you like to hear your car at points other than WOT? Do you plan to use cats with the headers? Do you plan internal engine mods in the future?
I'll be the first to say I don't care for Magnaflow, at least not on an otherwise stock car with cats. Too quiet at idle and cruise. Now, with LT headers, ORY and a cam - it sounds pretty good.
I have to partially agree here. I do agree that nothing is *better* than true duals. However, I have heard some very nice sounding exhaust setups on LS1s that still use a Y-pipe into catback configuration (the better the quality of the Y-merge, the better the sound). I've tried tons of setups myself, this was my favorite: Bassani mid-length headers, Bassani ORY, Bassani Street Comp catback. That setup sounded awesome behind my cammed LS1; plenty of volume under any condition (but not Loudmouth-type loud), and the idle was just perfect. Very few people use the Bassani stuff because it's expensive and they were a late arrival in the LS1 exhaust scene. I always used to get compliments on that setup, and questions about what parts I was using.

i jave LTs ORY and borla cat back and it sounds pretty good, i like the way the gmmg sounds better though, im more of a deep growl sounding person imo then a race car sound but the borla isnt bad, its pricy though, wouldnt of bought it if it didnt come with the car, what do yall think about the gmmg vs the borla?

Corsa, with longtubes and catted y, no rasp, or drone, screams at wot but sounds sick, not overbearing when driving around normal...magnaflow if you want it to be quieter, ive heard GMMG has horrible rasp with LTs especially if you go ory

Or get true duals.
Either way, just say NO to cats!

I have pacesetter LTs and ORY and think my Magnaflow is WAY too quiet.
Bottom line, it's all in the ear of the beholder.
Check out LS1Sounds, or better yet, find some local peopel who ahve different setups to hear in person.
IMO I'd rather have it really loud because I only drive 2k a year. if it's a DD I can see wanting something quieter.
