Default Headers & Exhaust question

I've decided to go with pacesetter LT headers and ORY. Is there any benefit in going with the no emission over the ones that come with emissions? I also want to go with the center mount exhaust. A this point I only have the tips. What exhaust do you recommend on a semi tight budget?

My car: 2000 SS, all stock.

going catless will reduce backpressure and make you more power.

most Y-pipes will work with the stock cat-back,install a cut out on the cat back.

I believe he was referring to the emission provision on the headers. Those are just for AIR and EGR. The only reason you would get rid of those is to clean up the engine bay. Some people say removing them will add power but I don't buy it.

Thanks for the replies. Any suggestion on what exhaust to go with?

www.ls1sounds.com

Go listen and find out for yourself what you like. The only thing I would avoid is Flowmaster, as they apparently have less flow for the LS1 more than the others.

^^^^ Yup, you need to listen for yourself and decide on your own. Go with what you like.

Really no need to keep the emissions stuff unless your state requires it and there's no way to get around not having it at inspection time. Some guys have issues with the AIR check valves ticking if they keep emissions, and if you switch to an LS6 intake, you'll have to delete EGR anyway.
