Default slp duel duel

I think i may have the slp duel duel exhaust... but the person before me put magnaflow quad tips on.... i know its not a magnaflow because it is really quiet...

how can one identify if it is truly a slp duel duel setup? i'm pretty sure it's a 3 inch up to the muffler

it's a 2001 ss and has the slp stickers on the door...

Thanks

Post a pic. The magnaflow is also one of the more quiet catbacks.

The dual/dual may have been an option for you car though and the stock tips leave little to be desired.

it looks just like the one in this post... but with magnaflow tips...

https://ls1tech.com/forums/parts-cla...als-345hp.html

i was just wondering if the muffler is shiny on a magnaflow...then that would be a dead giveaway...

That is a Dual/Dual muffler in the picture. The Magna Flow muffler is smaller and does not have the big weld seam in it.

Hmmm, I have the dual/dual on my car (from the factory) and the tips don't really look like that. I believe mine is all welded and it doesn't have slash cut tips on it. I do have four outlets (quad tips), just not slash cut. I believe also that the power flo/ dual/dual exhaust available for purchase from SLP is not exactly the same as the ones fitted on cars originally. Also there is something called the "cone of silence" or "ring of silence" associated with the driver's side tailpipe being partially blocked from the factory to reduce noise levels. Please correct me if I'm wrong here anybody, maybe some SS cars got the slash cut tips and Firehawks got the normal quad tips? Interested to know now. In any case, your car has magnaflow tips from what I'm gathering and I'm not sure if the mag muffler should be shiny. I know my stock dual/dual (power flo) is not shiny fwiw.

Exhausts that duel are a real problem. I would switch that out right away for a dual exhaust instead. Much less drama between tail pipes.

I was going to comment on that, but you hit it perfectly.

You should have seen the carnage in my garage after I put my TSP duals next to my old set of Lane's...rust and metal shavings everywhere.

Doesn't SLP stamp all their stuff? I know on my dual dual tips it has SLP stamped on them, and I believe the muffler has SLP on it as well.
