Default Did the 99's come stock with Hurst shifter?

I have a 1999 Camaro SS, and the shifter seems like it has very long throws. I know the later 01-02's came stock with a hurst short throw shifter, but did the 1999's come with the same one? It feels like I'm shifting with a wet noodle. It seems like a different shifter.... If it is in fact a different one, does anyone have a stock Hurst they want to sell? Thanks in advance.

If you want to keep that shifter, might look into a bushing kit. $.02

Buy an aftermarket shifter - mine came with the factory Hurst and while the throws are much better than stock, the rubber mount from the stick to the base plate is soft and mushy at best.

Check what the other guys are running here for aftermarket, I actually bought the Hurst aftermarket kit for my car just because the factory Hurst was so rubbery(sp?) feeling.

If you are looking into aftermarket shifters, you might as well look into other ones as well. From what everyone says, MGW is hands down the best, period. I have also heard a lot of good things about the pro 5.0, but I have also heard bad things about them as well. With all that said, I have the factory hurst and I love it. The throws are fairly long, but with plenty of practice I can shift very fast, and when I am driving around town I have plenty of leverage getting into any gear.

As said above the hurst shifter was an option that was installed at SLP, my 99 SS came with the factory hurst and the "H" **** on it, i still have the factory SLP box with the stock shifter and plain **** that they took out when they installed the hurst unit. I currently "ROW" with the MGW and will never look back

Sisters 00 SS came w/ a hurst shifter but like previously said it was an option. For the buck id buy a 50, MGW, etc.
