Default 4.8 with LS1 cam ?

Does anybody know what would happen if I install an LS1 cam into my 2000 silverado 4.8L truck engine?

not 100 % but an ls1 cam will have a more aggresive intake/exhaust duration.. so you'll need a tune after it but it should make more power? is that what your looking for?

if your doing a cam swap on your 4.8 i would highly recommend a ls6 02+ cam over a ls1 cam should gain anywhere from 20-45 rwhp it would run like stock almost idle like stock and you would notice a decent gain in power for a stock cam the specs are 204/218 551/551 116 lsa that's the 02+ cam the 01 ls6 cam specs are 507/512 525/525 117 lsa and with either cam you go with ls1 or ls6 your going to need to upgrade ur valve springs i recommend oem ls6 springs max lift .600 and you dont need a tune for the ls1 or ls6 cam but i highly recommend you do
