What headers/exhaust?
I just bought a 99 m6 Trans Am, and am just about done with the basic tune up and fluid change. I changed all the plugs and wires and plan on cleaning the TB next. I would like the car to have a more aggresive sound and a bit more power. I have been reading through alot of threads and noticed a lot of people running the Pace Setter headers with SLP LM exhaust. I personaly was interested in the BBK long tubes and an SLP system.
Can u you all shed some light on what the best bang for the buck is, and what u think the best sounding set ups are? For now i am not looking to make my car a track monster, just a weekend toy with some punch.
Thanks.

Yes go with PACESETTER headers. You cant beat the price. I feel like the Pacesetters had better fitment on my friends camaro than the Hooker headers on mine after having installed both, as far as installation.
Pace setters + SLP LM1 = Rasp is what i hear alot . But if you like loud then you will like that alot..

i have the bbk long tubes and ory package, better deal than the pacesetter IMO. and bbk is one of the best for fitment, they actually fit better than my stock exhaust did. i had bbk headers and a borla catback and was raspy and annoying, swapped it out for a corsa catback and sounds great. real deep. i have a cuotut in the mid pipe for when i want to be loud tho. go bbk you wont regret it. install was easy as hell no removal of steering or anything. slid right in.

TSP or Pacesetter for headers... there is no reason to look at anything else... these are the best for the $... IMO anyway. The TSP y-pipe seems like a good piece too.
For cat-back do not go with SLP... very raspy with either the LM1 or 2. I highly suggest magnaflow.... cheapest and doesnt sound like poo.

WELL! we now have a turn of events! While trying to pull the #8 spark plug we found that the previous owner cross threaded the plug and we cant get it out. So now it looks like we are pulling the head and off the the machine shop for some head work.
Instead of buying the exhaust I am now in the market for some head upgrades and maybe a cam.
I dont want to replace the stock heads, just maybe put some new springs rockers and a somewhat mild cam. Coming from the import world, this doesn't sound so hard.
Should i start a new thread for this topic?
If now please enlighten me with what you would do with 1700, and this situation.
THANKS!
If i keep the stock valve springs and valve train, what kind of cam can i get away with?

i have pacesetter headers, TSP ory, and LM1 catback. i love the loud sound and everything fit great. i did a lot of searching before i made the purchase and i found that Texas Speed had the best prices. everyone on here has nothing but great things to say about them too.
lots of people complain about how loud it is tho.
