Default My gas pedal gets "heavier" when driving in rain.

Anyone else experience this? It's strange. When driving in the rain, my accelerator requires more pressure to be depressed. Does it have to do with my Raptor hood? Just seeing if anyone else has noticed the same thing.

maybe its your traction control kicking in. it forces the gas pedal back into your foot and the indicator will light up on the dash when it happens.

TCS (Firebird) or ASR (Camaro) when active will push the pedal back as the car is experiencing spinning. IF its too much spin you will get a "kick back" and the Low Trac light will turn on.

All cars with that feature allows for you to turn it off, but when the car is shut off, it will automatically come back on next time you start the engine. There is a mod out there that will leave it off all the time. NOT recommended if other people could possibly drive your vehicle. As much as I find it annoying I wont install it but its def. useful.

Also to mention. Low Trac light comes on regardless whether TCS or ASR is off.

Thanks for the quick input, but TCS gets turned off everytime I sit in the car before I take off to drive. I'm not that much of a n00b, guys. :p

i've noticed the same thing. when driving in heavy rain fall it feels like I'm pressing harder on the gas pedal to go the same speed. I chalk it up to the extra resistence of driving through the water.

so maybe you weaken a little when it rains?

could be a psychological symptom too... how was your childhood?

no offense, just trying to help you figure out whats going on...

Mine does the same thing on a swap car, I chalk it to humidity causing excess friction on the pedal pivot point (steel on steel) and the throttle cable.

Feels somewhat dragging, but a spray of wd40 in the throttle cable, on the throttle body shaft, and the pedal pivot clears it right up.
