Depends on the situation. Buddy kicked his car from 5mph with heads cam. He let completely off the gas while pointed at the ditch, tires caught and we were inches away from being in the ditch. If he would have stayed in and steered through it that wouldnt have happened.
In all my experience there Is a point where letting off is too late and you have to steer through it, If you catch it soon enough you can let off.

I got my Z28 when I was 17 and it did get me into a little trouble. I was doing burnouts one time, I lost control and smacked right into a curb. I bent one axle shaft and destroyed two wheels. These are very powerful cars and therefore you have to respect that.
As for mods, I've just started modding my car and just bought Pacesetter headers, a TSP catted Y-pipe and an SLP air lid.

you'll be alright. at that age I had a 71 Nova with a mild 454 and power assisted drum brakes. if I didn't die in that car, you should have no problem in yours. worst I did was get pulled over for 98 in a 55, which was good cause I was coasting down from so stupid silly speed

I got the 66 mustang in sig when I was 16 and quite frankly it scared me more than my current ls6 swapped camaro does. The car has horrible suspension and control compared to my camaro. It has a detroit locker in it and in the rain taking turns it scares the crap out of me sometimes even with barely any throttle it would shoot sideways in the rain. I still have the mustang its just in my garage now as a weekend thing, the firebird was the modern car I really learned to drive in I had a couple close calls in the rain when I was 17 in that thing just because I was being stupid. When I turned 18 I got my z28, my friends had already had 2 ls1's so I knew what they were capable of. I'm 20 now and for the most part I respect the power of my car and only get on it when theres really no one around I maybe punch it once a week which is even a more rare occasion now because with the mods anything under 35mph is completely useless traction wise. You'll learn soon enough how the car behaves and what you can and cannot get away with but still be careful and you will be fine. Enjoy the car man.

Just use your head and respect the car. Although its stock, its still got way more than enough power to get you into trouble. I started out with a 94 3.4L V6 when I was 16 and I'm honestly glad I did. I wanted a Z28 but couldnt afford one. I was an idiot to say the least... That little V6 was way more than I should have even had.

I got my first camaro when I was 17, a 93 z28 bone stock besides a shift kit in the trans. That was a LT1, and man that car was a BLAST to drive, and got me into a lot of trouble hehe
Just drive around and get a good feel for the car before you try any power slides/crazy burnouts. These cars are very fast and 300hp is enough to do some pretty crazy **** with. Even more so with your LS1.
Congrats on the sick ride dude, like I said drive a lot and get a good feel for the car, don't rush into doing any crazy mods just yet you've got plenty of power. The catback exhaust will be sick and with bolt ons in the future that car can be damn fast. The sky's the limit with mods, just depends on what you are satisfied with.
