Yes torque converters allow the A4 to lay down more torque from a dig. See my torque #'s in my sig with light cam/bolton

without a verter, yes the car is boring. Once you put a verter in you will be hard pressed to find an m6 with similar mods that can 1/4 mile the same given equally apportioned mods/traction (nitto DR).

Likewise an M6 will eat an A4 on a roll.

Ultimately A4's own the 1/4 mile for alot less dough. 12 bolt for A4? Yeah if you're 10 second. Otherwise stock rear end.

12 bolt for an M6? If you got any traction the 10 bolt go boom.

Comes down to what you like. After 5 stick shift cars, and buying my camaro for a MUSCLE car for Drag racing. The automatic seems to be nice.

I could see myself buying an M6 ls1 later on down the road for shiz n giggles but gotta pay down the billz first.

i've driven both, modded (cam/bolton) and each has their respective benefits mate.
