Default best mid priced headers?

What mid priced headers will give my ls1 the greatest bhp gain? I would trust reviews from people who have actually bought and tested them rather than what the produduct descriptions say.

Best combo I see out there is the BBK longtube w/y pipe in chrome for $369 or ceramic coated for about $100 more, read up on this forum about them, good fit and finish and ez install too, next price point is about $7-800, then over a grand from there. IMHO YMMV

I've got the chrome BBK LT/ORY combo on my T/A, hands down the best fitting headers I've ever installed, no notching k-members and removing steering shafts, etc. that you might run into with other brands. I've had them almost 4 months now and everything still looks and sounds great. They're really the best option for your money IMHO.

Hey i was looking at pacesetters that come as a "kit" With all the needed bolts/stuff.
Im looking at the BBK's now and wondering what MORE did you have to get for them?

Or you could get the new Texas Speed 1 7/8" headers for about 500. Stainless too, now.

Yup thats what I'm probably doing. Waiting to get TSP Stainless 1 7/8" LT's and a TSP Stainless catted 3" Y when that comes out. Hopefully fitment will be perfect with those as well

So if their current LS headers are already $499 on their website and on backorder, how can they sell stainless ones for the same price? Plus another $2-300 for a y-pipe puts this in the $800 range minimum....does not sound mid-priced to me, just saying

As I see it, strictly based on PRICE, not which brand is the best:
ebay OBX headers would be low end budget ($150-300)

BBI - mid range ($500-ish)

Pacesetter, TSP, Kooks, AR going toward the high scale when you add in the Y pipe ($800 & up)

They aren't positive the price will stay the same, but I'm sure they will try to keep it close. You are right though, not mid-priced, but probably the best option once available. How much is their non-catted y-pipe?

I have it on pretty good authority that the Stainless products will be just about the same price.

We do not anticipate a price change from $499.99 for the headers, so that will be a huge plus for customers looking to go with the larger primary size!

Let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns.

Thanks!

Damn, def copping TSP stainless when I do my header project. Was originally gonna go w/ pacesetters for the money cuz all the stainless ones are expensive, but the tsp's aren't that much more then pacesetters so stoked

I got pissed the other day when I saw the 2010+ Camaro headers were 10 bucks cheaper AND stainless, so I sent an email. That's how I found out about the 98-02's being made in stainless now

And no certain header should give you that much a of a gain they should all be just around the same UNLESS you go with 1 7/8 headers and you are h/c they have been dyno proven to add anywhere between 10-20 more hp than the 1 3/4

What about pacesetter headers? I seen those for less than 300 and seem to be a decent brand

How are you coming up with that Pacesetter's are $800? I got ceramics w/ Y for under $500 new, agree with everything else though.

Pacesetter's, Hooker, BBK, Mac, & Flowtech I'd say are all "mid-priced"

I got my Pacesetter Ceramic coated headers and Y pipe combo from Texas Speed for $479 , pretty cheap considering they are coated.
