Thats right an LS6 motor came up for sale. Hes claiming its from a 04 Z06 vette. He got it from a wrecking yard. "supposed" to have 20k miles but he has no paper work.
My questions are how do I authenticate the motor? yr,size etc..
He has the heads off? Is there anything I could look for on the block or heads to indicate abuse,mile estimate ect..
It comes with a computer but he said he ordered it separate and is not sure if its properly set up to run the motor but it is the right computer. What does that mean?
Its got everything plus new hg, head bolts,MSD wires for 1500.00 obo does this sound right. Any help would be great going to look at it this weekend.

ls6 heads sshould have 243 cast in the corner of the head the block if the pan is off will have large breather passages between the cylinder castings

remove the oil filler cap and put your hand over it .if you feel pressure you have bad rings.check the casting numbers on the head and block.

Thanks for ther info. I went and looked at it. Very nice everything looked good but the heads are 853 casting?? I assume its a camaro or trans am.

I'd guess the motor is more likely to be out of a 98-00 LS1 F-Body/Vette.

The block is an LS6 casting. Just the heads where not the 243's Did they have the 1168 casting that early?
So what do you guys think he's firm at 1500 is it worth the gamble?
