Question fuel pressure

i understand that the ls1, that i'm putting into my '98 sierra, requires 58psi to allow the engine to function propperlt. the pressure, according to my Haynes auto guide for the sieera, states that the 4.3l vortec v6 requires 60-66psi. hers's my question: should i opt for the new ep381 fuel pump even though my current fuel pump puts out enough psi?
i haven't received my copy of 'how to swap an ls1 into almost anything', it's due on 07/18/2011. it will, no doubt, cover the topic. i am just asking to get an idea as to what is the norm.
thanks to all in advance, who reply.

Default

That pump putting out more pressure is not a problem at all,, If you are doing the swap to a full LS1 the pressure regulator is on the fuel rail,,Just put the intake on with that LS rail, and You will have the right pressure for the engine.
