Default Starting point.

What are some good starting points to help increase my cars horsepower, and make it faster?

The underlying principle is you are reducing air restrictions be it before the throttle body or after the exhaust manifolds and anywhere inbetween.

Most will do mods that can be re used later on with future builds.

Bolt on mods come to mind as they are the cheapest, easily installed, and can be resold with ease.

Also research some free mods and weight reduction, that will help with hp and performance.

I consider bolt on mods basically

Lid
Throttle Body
Intake
Exhaust Headers
Cat-Back exhaust

Mind you a dyno tune will be needed when you get to headers to take full advantage. Most set up will be pulling timing due to being maxed on how much fuel it is getting.

Lid, good flowing cat-back, ported throttle body, headers and a y pipe would be a great start.
