If you mill the heads like .030 or slap on some 243s to get the compression
up to 10.5-10.8 : 1 range a GOOD tuner could get the EPS 222/226 cam to
idle stock smooth...doubt you'll make 500 flywheel horse unless you put on
some TrickFlow or AirFlowResearch heads...Maybe have Advanced Inductions
at least CNC the 317 castings for half the cost of aftermarket heads

The Z06 cam is great if you can get it for like a hundred bucks since it'll get
ya like 20 more ponies but an aftermarket EPS stick will be worth probably
35-40 for around $400...speed costs

do you have the 6.0 already ?if so what are the head casting numbers ?whats your budget?go with a EPS cam ,talk to Geoff at EPS and he can help you figure out a good motor combination and spec a cam for you.you will need a ls6 intake and a ported TB,and bigger injectors.get the cam after the heads are done, porting, milling, valve job ,and flowed.

If I was you I would go to a 243 casting head and have it ported. This way you can achieve the desired compression ratio without killing a bunch of piston to valve clearance. You can look into a little larger of a camshaft which will make it much easier to make the desired hp. A set of ported 243s and a 233/239 camshaft would easily yield 510-530 at the crank as long as the proper bolt ons are on the motor.
