Default speedometer is broken

hello all:

I've taken my car to two of my mechanics - neither one knows how the fix the problem.

my 2002 camaro's speedometer is broken. it only moves to 1/3 of my actual speed (if im going 60 it will show 20)

I bought this car with 4.10 gears in it - at that time, the tires were 245s. I think the speedometer started to read inaccurately after i bought new tires (275s) - can this be a source of the problem?

on ls1tech i hear the solution for my problem is to recalibrate the pcm. What type of shop would I look for to do this?

and lastly - is there any chance of any other reason or diagnosis for why my speedometer would be reading in such a strange way.

Thanks.

The gear change could definately cause an issue like this, especially if the car was a 2.73 or something like that. I could also be a bad VSS. If you want to have your PCM flashed, I would contact FROST on this site, he can flash your ECM and put in some goodies to make it run a lil better also.
