Exclamation Help Please: Need to know!!

I am about to go look at a 2001 Trans am ws6. I need to know how I can tell if its a real ws6. It had the ws6 Badge but I have seen many look alikes I am kinda confused. when you open the hood the air intake is SLP. The mufflers have been taken off and straight piped past the cats. Also it has the chrome ABS rims. Is this an actual ws6? How do I know if this is the real deal? easy to find signs please! Help is much appreciated ladies and gents.

1) Open driver's side door
2) Bend over, find sticker inside door jamb with all kinds of 3 digit codes
3) Read them.... go to bottom and look for RPO code WS6

If it's there, it's a WS6, barring no paint and body work. If it's a WS9 "ONLY" rpo, then it's a regular "non-ram air" Trans Am that someone put a WS6 hood on.

Thank you so much. Will I find all of the information for possible engine alterations from the stock components there?

No. That sticker is a factory SPID (service parts identification) tag, it only gives OE codes for factory options. There is no sticker that would cover aftermarket modifications.

If the sticker is missing, you can take the VIN number to any GM dealer and have them run it through the VIS to give you a complete RPO list of all factory options that the car came with (this would also include WS6).

^^ Ask them nicely and they'll print your build sheet as well.

Try plugging the VIN # in HERE and see what you find.
