Default Ls2 or Ls7 which one?

Have a pretty good lead on a buyer for my truck which has got me thinking about a different route for my next build. Its definitely going to be boosted. The vehicle is going to be an AWD 1st generation (square body) S-10,

To the point:

Right now I have an LS2 Disassembled in my living room storing it for a possible build up. but im lacking a few necessary parts like the intake manifold etc to get it up and running,

second option, I can buy a complete LS7 minus transmission for $9000 from a somewhat local salvage yard.

What should I do, go LS2+ boost or stock LS7 and boostify it?

I figure the LS7 will make the same power in stock form as a H/C/I ls2 makes, or very close.

With a healthy cam + bolt-on LS2, you should be right with an LS7 in terms of power.

Personally, I think the LS2 would be what I would go with if I planned on boosting a motor. I've heard many, many bad things about LS7's under boost, they can be made to handle it though no doubt. I believe it's just the thin cylinder walls and crap pistons that are the weaknesses with them.

Save your money and go with an iron motor for serious boost.

Im trying to stick with an aluminum block, the whole point of this build is to make a very lightweight daily driver with some *** kicking power and fair fuel economy.
