Default Header gaskets and splicing O2 wires

Any problems with the gaskets recieved with the pacesetter headers from TSP? What about splicing the O2 wires vs. extentions? I know extentions are best but i dont have them and will be doingthe install on wed. so that doesnt leave me much time to order either the gaskets or extentions. Also do the header bolts that come with them seal it up very well or should I try to find locking bolts?

Most people re-use their stock multi layer steel (MLS) gaskets that are on there already or buy new ones from the dealership.

Splicing O2's isn't recommended at all. They operate on such a low voltage that messing with the wires can be really tricky. There is a couple options here depending on how comfortable you are with wiring.

1) You can buy new ones from advance. Ask them for rear O2's for a 2000 vette and they will be plenty long.

2) you can re-pin the wires on the ECM so that the rear o2 harnesses will read for the fronts. There is a write up on it on here and it seems pretty easy actually I just didn't see it until after I did my headers.

Those bolts will probably be ok or you can use the stock bolts as well.

Good luck.

i did the same as you i wanted my headers in so bad i said screw it and spliced my o2. a week later my car was misfireing so bad i couldnt go above 20 and had to limp it home. (with two mustangs passing me laughing) o2 sensors were burned out. bought bosh ones and never had a problem since. 13111 and done. no extension. get fel pro gaskets or some other gaskets. in a nutshell, yes you will have to wait a little longer to put headers on if you want to do it right.
