Default New 2001 WS6

Im new to Ls1 tech. I just bought this car from a dealer. They didnt know that the car had any mods. So the car has 88,000 miles with a M6, it has a bbk tb, longtubes, cam, not sure what type or specs, and PRC stage 2.5 heads, 3in duals with X pipe. What are some does and don'ts when it comes to these cars?

Do change the rear end.
Don't put a body kit on it.

There is no way they did not know it was modded when it had a cam and LTs with duals. Good find for you, but they were lying if they said they didn't know.

Rearend needs to be the first mod for you and then some spray wouldn't hurt it......

Unless you are drag racing or launching pretty hard on these cars don't worry about a rear-end. Yes, they are weak, but they are also very expensive to replace with something better (12-bolt, 9", etc..) If you aren't launching hard chances are you won't break it. Your car is pretty much set though, so I'd spend time making it look the way you want and if it doesn't have suspension mods (LCA's, SFC's, panhard bar, etc..) I'd get those right away since they should have been done before heads/cam (in my opinion)

I wanna know what the hell kinda person hears a car with LT's duals and a cam and says to their self "their cant be any mods that sounds like a normal car"

Anyway like everyone else said..rear end, and enjoy it! One of the best looking cars out there IMO

Also get rid of the monster truck stance if its not lowered already!

Absolute first thing I would do with a modded car that I did not mod is trow it on a dyno and check air fuel ratio and for knock to make Sure its running good. You never know when you buy a car already modded.

I would go with a 9in and like 777 said upgrade your suspension as well but always check out the classifieds you can always get good deals on parts.

Look under the car to see what other mods you might have so you aren't replacing things you already have. Get it on a lift and take a pic of the underside and post it on here, and take a pic of the engine bay to post on here too.
Run premium(91+) fuel only, especially since yours is modded.
Like already stated go get it on a dyno to check out what kind of numbers you are making and if the tune on it is safe.
Don't go buying random parts, do lots of research first before buying anything. What you buy may not work with your setup, or may not be what you are looking for. Don't always believe the advertisements, look up actual user reviews. Use the search function on here.
