Default car too low advice requested

i am stationed in germany and they make you get your car inspected every year, last year when i bought my car they had taller tires on there and it passed inspection but i forgot what size they were. i currently have 275/45/17 tires on there now, and i need to raise the car about half inch to 1 inch just for inspection.

what are the tallest tires that will fit on the 17inch rims without rubbing the car or making it dangerous to drive. was looking at 225/55/17 but not sure if that is tall enough

i also heard there are bricks or something you can buy that you put in the coils to temp. add a inch to the car does anyone know anything about this? appreciate all the help

i have a 00 camaro ss conv

thanks for the help in advance

a 275/45/17 and a 225/55/17 have the same height, the second number which represents the sidewall height is a percentage of the tread width, so even though it's a higher percentage since the width is narrower the sidewall isn't any taller

BMR makes spacers that go between the front a arm and the lower shock mount to raise the front a bit, and you can add heater hose to the rear springs even if the isolator is already there to bring that up some

The auto parts stores over here sell little things that will raise coil springs about a half inch. They just go on the end of a ratchet and you twist them in between the coils, that would be great for u and super cheap. Just depends if they sell them over there...

Once upon a time I bought a beater, which had a redneck
lift kit installed - chunks of 2x4 wedged into the springs.

But that might not pass a visual....

What springs do you currently have on the car?
Post pics of said car.
