Default Fast intake or ls6 intake

i currently have an ls6 intake on my 02 camaro z28 with stock tb. What kind of gains would i possibly see if i got like a fast 92/92 or 102/102? I currently have ported 5.3 heads, torquer v2, ls6 intake, slp cai and lid, pacesetter lts, tsp true duals dumped bullets, and hp tune. Thanks for all input

I'd keep the ls6 intake. Thr gains of a FAST intake won't be noticeable on stock bottom end.

I would save up and go with the fast 102/102, from what i've read thats the best setup for any ls1..small cubes or large cubes doesnt matter

With ported heads and a cam, it's more then likely you'll have a decent hp and tq increase. I agree the stock bottom end doesn't matter, there will still be gains. But of course more cubes would net more gain. It's the ridiculous expensive price of the FAST intakes that cause a lot of people to think they're not worth it.

I would go with the FAST, it will complament your heads and cam well. There are other middle ground between the two, BBK and Professional Products both make intake manifolds that can even be opened up to accept larger throttle body's if your not wanting to drop the coin for a FAST set-up. You will have to get one of there fuel lines and the brackets to install it as well as gaskets (which is only $30) just a heads up as there is more cost involved than just the manifold and throttle body.

IMO I wouldn't run an LS6 intake if your anything above bolt-on's, again that's only the way I see it, the LS6 is a proven performer for the cost.

If you want to spend money on an intake, get a GMPP or vic jr and a elbow.

LS6 intake is good up to 450rwhp so if your there or below do not waste your money on any other intake unless you are going to go over 450rwhp.

If you do a search on intake dyno results you will see a run done with a ls1 with 450 rwhp and using a fast intake 102 he then changed it to a ls6 intake a he did only loose 3 horsepower. The post is on here or Ls1.com I can not remember its been awhile. But that post is what opted me to do the ls6 intake because I more than likely am not going over 450rwhp.

I can clarify that an ls6 is good for 450 rwhp from all the reading i have done on this forum.

A fast imo is a good mod when you have a good set of heads and a cam with a forged bottom end and all that. i have seen a graph of a car with the parts i listed go from an ls6 to a fast and gained a lilttle hp everywhere and the torque curve looked even better also but nothing crazy over the ls6. A fast intake is a good piece but for a lightly modified ls1 i dont see why you would need one.

02cam z28 your car might see a decent gain with one.

The fast will absolutely show gains. Nothing crazy though and not worth the full price, but if you get one used the deal is a little better.

Likely be looking at 10-15rwhp on your setup.

You can buy a 5.3 for just a little more than that.

Hell you can buy a stock 6.0 lq9 for a grand or so.. It would be about as fast (or faster) as a cam only 4.8, with way way more potential.

Holy **** is this what tech is coming to? OP do it, you will gain double digits in both hp and tq easily. You guys need to realize as soon as you add a cam or heads, anything other than an LS6 ie the BBK, FAST and Typhoon will pull away. Don't believe me? GM high tech isn't using the LS6 anymore for testing because when they put a 102/102 on their stock headed LS1 with a 224/230 cam and gained 15 hp/11 tq and they were at 470 flywheel horsepower. So that puts the 450rwhp myth to.bed. You could not pay me to put an LS6 on my car

Thanks everyone! Once I get the funds I think I'm going to go with a fast 102/102 setup! Appreciate it guys!
