And figured since I'm paying for it I might as well have what I want put back in it. What is my best bet for plugs? And oil too (brand and rating). I most definitely trust the shop it's going to but I don't want just anything put in my pride and joy (just bought it yesterday lol).

And since it probably matters, it's a '98 Camaro Z28 A4.

why dont you do it yourself? its easy but them again i had a friend do mine when i first bought it cuz i was working. lol

Yeah you could do the tune up yourself and KNOW what goes in it and save some money at the same time. If you are gonna just send to a shop a good ole NGK TR55 spark plug will do nicely. Also 5w30 mobil 1 synthetic oil with a quality filter (not Fram) and you will be on your way to a nice looking good running ride. Good Luck OP.

Thanks guys. What do y'all consider a good filter? And yea, I just decided I was gonna do the tune up myself to save some money and gain some knowledge.

A good filter would be a WIX filter purolater Gold and a mobil filter. These are a few good choices. Bascically anything but a Fram or a cheap "store" brand filter and you will be fine.

Later tonight I'm picking up my tune up parts. The list is 6 quarts of Mobile 1 Synthetic 5w30, a purolator oil filter, NGK TR5 plugs, a Purolator fuel filter and Autolite plug wires.

Now I was told if the car hasn't run synthetic don't convert it because it would smoke and damage the engine. Is this true guys? Again thanks in advance for any help.

No switching to synthetic will not harm your engine. It's got some cleaning additives in it that will take "gunk" out of your engine. I have heard story's of high mileage engines start leaking oil after switching to synthetic because the "gunk" that was stopping it from leaking is no longer there. You really can't go wrong with a quality synthetic or "dino" oil and quality filter.

Run Ngk plugs. And only run synthetic. I use Castrol Synethetic " edge " 5w 30 its good ****. Also go with a good oil filter not frame. I use K&N oil fiter along with K&N air filter. Might as well get a cold air intake well your at it.

K&N air filter= expensive but good filter. K&N oil filter=expensive & I dont get why people buy them when an AC Delco filter works great for 1/3 the price.

What's wrong with Fram?

I've never had a problem with the Fram Toughguard or any other Fram filter.

Take a quality oil flter and a Fram cut them open see the difference on the inside. With a fram you are basically filtering your oil through paper towels.

I was warned away from the NGK because of they're "premium" description vs. the "iridium" opponents. I bought TR5s anyway because I trust y'all over Advance Auto Parts workers, but if anyone else knows anything please let me know.

i don't believe k&n's have more capacity but you can get an oil filter for an '02 deville(and whatever else has the same oil filter) and it's longer but still fits. that's what i've been using in a wix brand.

Call me retarded, but even on NGK's website the closest to a TR55 I find is just a TR5. Please tell me it's the same thing.
